moss killing lichen ?

On fagus, circular spread out, noticed green dusty lichen like forms later - not sure if connected to moss die off.

in most cases, lichens are "killing" mosses! Should be the same here... well - they dont realy kill them - they "replace" them (as I learned from Michael Lüth, well known Moss-Expert)

the problem with that theory is that there is clear moss clearing inside circles. The green dusty presumable lichen thing is everywhere.
There is something special happening at white rim. Out of head I'm sure that inside circle there is almost zero or none live moss. I would say this circles are common if you look.
